Elaine K. Miller began painting in response to a diagnosis of cancer in 2011. Almost immediately, her work became the primary focus of her physical and spiritual life.
She paints on location (en plein air) and in the studio daily. “The feeling that I can create something lasting and beautiful, based on the natural wonders of this world, is what drives every moment of my existence,” she says.
Miller is consumed by an innate passion for painting and the desire to master her craft. She has studied painting under Donald Jurney, Alastair Dacey, Todd Bonita, Christopher Volpe and others and is now a member of the North Shore Arts Association, the Marblehead Art Association, and New Hampshire Art Association.
Miller’s work resides in permanent collections in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Tennessee. She regularly sells her work through the Lincoln-Levy Gallery in Portsmouth, NH, the Sebasco Harbor Art Gallery in Phippsburg, Maine and through her Facebook page, E.K. Miller Fine Art. She is now cancer free and lives with her husband Ched and their Maine Coon Cat Sebasco, in Exeter, New Hampshire.
